Saturday Night Skate

This is for the old school skaters who would hit the local rink every Saturday night. Their skates tied together & draped over their shoulders or around their necks. Unless you were like me and rented yours 'cause money was tighter than the shorts on that girl you skated behind all night. Of course... if you were like me, you wouldn't roller skate, you would roll or fall.

The music was funky and the booties shakin to the rhythm were hypnotic. That test in first
period on Monday was light years away and all you knew was you had to move. You had miles to roll before your mom would be back to pick you up. The Afros were tall, the Jheri curls were glistening and the guys with the most skills were showin out for all to see.

A couple of these tracks are post skate rink. But they were too funky & fit too well to
be overlooked.
