The DJSoc series enters uncharted territory this week with a mix full of Latin American vibes from 'Los niños de la villa', society members who intriguingly wish to remain anonymous for this project. Recorded on CDJs - reportedly at the top of Machu Picchu to a crowd of confused American tourists - this mix crosses continents and styles. Brazilian beats share space with Cuban claves, as Guatemalan guitars give way to Chilean Cha-Cha-Cha tunes, before the baton is passed to Gringos-like Thievery Corporation. To be honest, we don't know whether its Samba, Bossa Nova, Rumba, or Son, but we sure want to hear more. Allegedly, 'Los Niños' travelled 5000 miles on the back of a donkey to deliver this mix, with nothing but a case of Tequila, a sack of salt, and a plethora of limes for company. That is a trip to be respected, equalled only by the sonic voyage they provide us with here. Draw for the vaccines, cos this one contagious!
