Wide Open Road Show - Cover me livid

Playing tracks by

Suicide Squad, Frenzel Rhomb, Nancy Vandal, Bored, The Aints and more.

This weeks show is all about the covers baby. Starting with the glorious punk of Suicide Squad doing Roger Whittaker leading into the Rhomb working their inner Takeaways and Nancy Vandal telling Kevin Bacon where to go. After Bored storm through AC/DC we have 3 tunes connected to the Saints with Ed Kuepper's Aints working Ike and Tina's River Deep, followed by the Saints themselves, then the Hunters and Collectors brass up Know Your Product even more. Now its the Go-Be's turn with Holocene covering Spring Rain, Robert Forster doing a beautiful version of John Prine and then Glenn Thompson lamenting the untimely death of Grant McLennan with Dive for your Memory. Simon Holmes does both Cole Porter and Ratcat, with erstwhile Hummingbird Nic Dalton doing his best Iggy with 'No Fun'. Finally, we go oui to Mick Harvey anglicizing Serge, Nick Cave francophoning Michel Polnareff (our French God) and Noah Taylor paying tribute to the late Roland S Howard with a heartfelt feedback of Shivers
