Wide Open Road Show 5 - I want to spill the blood of a hippy

Playing tracks by

XL Capris, Eskimo Joe, Mexican Spitfires, Knievel, The Welcome Mat and more.

Get out your old videos of DAAS Kapital and get your onto cityrail, it's time to celebrate another Wide Open Road. This show kicks off with a homage to my home town of Sydney, with the XL Capris, Eskimo Joe and the Mexican Spitfires all singing about the harbour city. Next we shine a light on the production and song writing chops of Brother Wayne Connolly, with 'Might as well be gone', a track from the Welcome Mat and then the lamented Glide. Early Magic Dirt comes up next, three tracks featuring their original gitar playa Daniel Herring. My fave of the lot is always Redhead, although Goofy Gumb rocks. Enter the Doug Anthony all Stars, wioth four tracks, perhaps of their time, but perhaps of a time right now. And finally, we round it out with three songs by Nic Dalton, erstwhile Plunderer and Lemonhead. We play Doctor of Love with Tom Morgan of Smudge, Pushpin w/Godstar and finally Into Your Arms recorded by the Lemonheads but originally feat Rob St Claire from the Hummingbirds.
