Calling the Mad Men

Calling the Mad Men

Playing tracks by

Walter Schirra, John Barry, Mandigo and his Orchestra, Don Sebesky, Armando sciascia and more.

Right in time for the next season's premiere of my favorite TV show "Mad Men," allow me to take you back to the sounds and styles of the best decade ever - the 1960s. While none of the rare tracks that I have selected for this mix did actually appear on the show, they might as well have. From Martini-flavored Bossa Nova to space-age era Jazz, Lounge, motion picture soundtracks, obscure sitar-laced orchestra arrangements and some - simply stated - super-heavy beats, this mix will make you want to get in your slim-cut suit, light a smoke and take the time-travel highway back five decades. It's so weird, you'll just have to love it.

Excellent mix sir! Was lucky enough to see John Barry live at the Royal Albert Hall in '98 introduced by Michael Caine! They used to share a flat together in the 60s...
