Takin' It Back To the Somewhat Old School

Playing tracks by

Heavy D & The Boyz, Skee-lo, Digable Planets, Naughty By Nature, Salt & Pepa and more.

Whew! Here's another ALL-VINYL set, mixed manually with two turntables and a mixer - no MIDI controllers or MP3s whatsoever, with very little post-production work. This mix contains a whopping 18 tracks, including some INSANELY rare remixes of some of the most popular rap tracks of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

This mix really brought back a lot of memories; it especially made me remember how much fun I had doing gigs in the early 1990s for the Rogers State College "Upward Bound" students.

A few things to note:

- Yes, I included Heavy D and Digital Underground twice by design, but there was no "special" reason that I did that.

- The mix of "Informer" is a bit more "electronic" than a lot of the other stuff in the mix. It's from an extremely rare Swedish import.

- The version of "Bust A Move" at the end was remixed by Cameron Paul, who (according to legend) was responsible for adding the iconic keyboard riff to Salt + Pepa's "Push It" way back in the day.
