Pop of the 90s

Pop of the 90s

Playing tracks by

Barenaked Ladies, Prince And The New Power Generation, The KLF and Tammy Wynette, C&C Music Factory, Black Box and more.

Although my favourite decade was the 1980s, there was a lot of great stuff released during the 1990s. This mix is a celebration of the poppier side of the 90s, and will most likely be the first of a series.

"Pop of the 90s" features ten tracks from the 1990s (mainly the early 1990s) and they are bonafide classics. It's got Prince. It's got C+C Music Factory. It's got CeCe Peniston. It starts off with a super-rare remix of Barenaked Ladies' "One Week," and it ends with an epic eight-minute version of Cathy Dennis' "You Lied To Me." The entire mix is a few minutes shy of an hour long.

As usual, this was mixed by hand without a laptop, MIDI controller, or sync button, so the mixing isn't always *perfect*, but it's real. Also as usual, most of the versions used are rare, DJ-only remixes from my personal remix arsenal. :)

Enjoy the mix... I look forward to your feedback!

THIS IS AWESOME!!! Of course, anything with KLF and "Old McDonald Had A Farm" in the same mix deserves that praise.

"...this was mixed by hand without a laptop, MIDI controller, or sync button, so the mixing isn't always *perfect*, but it's real." We here at DJF (djforums.com) can help. There's a whole section devoted to Digitial DJing tools. For only $100, you can get your very own very plasticy controller with full sync capabilities. Of course, your skills might have to be relearned to tone down the awesomeness... but we can help with that too.

You mean that *I* could be like the kids on CraigsList, for only $100? YES! Hold on... I need to go torrent me up a hard drive full of the same hot EDM and trap hits that everyone else is playing this week. :D These vinyl records are hard to download!

(For those who don't know me or KLH well, my response was loaded with sarcasm, as was his comment. I have actually never "torrented" any files at all.)
