A lot of these mixes take four to five to twenty attempts to try and get it right. When it isn't right I know because it bugs me to the point I will wake up thinking, "I gotta fix that mix." This mix started off as predominately a New Wave affair but it just felt too, I don't know, soulless I guess. After a few run throughs I woke up today thinking, "It needs some Maceo." And Maceo Parker delivered as he always does. Everything fell in place. "Sometimes you just glide."
