Eric Marty, a professor at the Université Paris VII - Diderot, met Roland Barthes in 1976. The encounter was life-changing and greatly influenced Eric Marty's intellectual work, as he wrote in the first part of his 2006 book: 'Roland Barthes, le métier d'écrire'. Eric Marty has published the complete work of Roland Barthes (Le Seuil). Although he is most know for his work on Barthes, Eric Marty has also written literary books.
