Playing tracks by
Simian Mobile Disco, LAKKER, Kamikaze Space Progam, Petar Dundov, Gregor Tresher, Smilla and more.
We are back in the mix seat for the first time this year and thought it only fitting that we pull out some fairly big-sized, child-friendly guns, pulling together a mix which starts with the false promise of peace, ebbs into some woozy, noisy, out-of-your-seat-dance-that-Christmas-gut-away techno bangers, before bringing you gently back down into your chair, to recapture your breath, blood pumping, body-willing.
We open with a Simian Mobile Disco track that confounds, then continue with experimental material from Lakker, Kamikaze Space Programme and the hypnotic Hex from Gregor Tresher. Arguably the high point is the playful, dark yet melodic Play, by Smilla, that follows. From here, the noisiness subsides and sequencers, melody and progressive beats come to the fore, with Oliver Lieb and Dave Seaman added to the melting pot, before an excerpt of the Pachanga Boys epic Time closes things off nicely.
The whole is harmonically mixed to ensure smooth transitions and a subtle flow.
