Mingling with Matrarchs is a podcast series produced by First Nations and Indigenous Studies student and CiTR's Indigenous Peoples collective coordinator, Salia Joseph. Each episode focuses on interviews with indigenous women who have found ways to tell their stories and explore indigenous identity in different ways on UBC campus. In her conversations with Dory Nason, Linsay Lachance, and Maija Tailfeathers, Salia questions narrative tropes around native women, and learns about how their work and ideology relates to their identities as indigenous women.
In Episode 2, Salia Joseph interviews Lindsay Lachance, an Anishinaabe UBC PhD student in First Nations Dramaturgical Processes. Salia asks, "what does it mean ti out our bodies on the stage, and through art share our stories as Native People?" They discuss representation, the importance of theatre, performance, and what is happening today with new media.
