These are beautiful tunes superbly recorded - meant to be played on a Hi-Fi - a high fidelity audio system - preferably surround sound. My original working title was “12/25 in 5.1” but then I discovered a couple of great tunes for Hanukkah and the “12/25” seemed too limiting.
But this visual endures:
In the 1980s, Maxell became an icon of pop culture when it produced advertisements popularly known as "Blown Away Guy" for its line of audio cassettes. The ads depict a man sitting low in a high-armed chair facing JBL speakers. His hair and necktie are being blown back by the tremendous sound from speakers in front of him supposedly due to the audio accuracy of Maxell's product. He is shown desperately clinging to the armrests but defiantly looking ahead at the source of the music through sunglasses, though calmly catching his drink before it slides off the end table.
That’s what this sounds like.
This one’s for Gabriela and her family. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!
