Episode 180 / Rockabilly Madness!

Playing tracks by

Flamin Groovies, Johnny Horton, George Jones, Elvis Presley, Johnny Burnette Trio and more.

In keeping with our policy of not playing music relating to the current Halloween festivities, we instead present an evening of Rockabilly Madness, with lots more atomic boppin’ and jivin’ for all of you rockers to flip out to. Let’s get nervous & shakin’ all over! The closest we’re gonna get to a Halloween-themed tune in this episode is the first song, “Evil Hearted Ada” by the ever-lovin’ Flamin’ Groovies from San Francisco, so don’t go expecting to hear any o’ that danged Halloween music, because it won’t BE there! The majority of tracks tonight will be from the Fabulous Fifties (heavy on the Brylcreem and Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer), although we do close the show with a Roy Orbison song revamped by Los Straitjackets & The Reverend Horton Heat! Crazy Baby!

I Love Your Shows You Do A Great Job On Them Captain M.

John Guest

Thank you Captain Fantastic Rockabilly show with none of the Halloween Crap. Fantastic Tunes. Keep on Rockin' my friend.

The Captain Maniac Show

Thanks, John! I don’t do Halloween, although I know that lots of people enjoy dressing up and get a large charge out of it all. I’ll have to admit that it’s just not my cup of tea and never has been. Keep on rockin'!

The Captain Maniac Show

"Pink Floyd Lady Approved" -- I gotta remember that one. It's a recommendation for sure!

Johnny Switchblade

While I have never heard a Captain Maniac show I didn't like, I feel you are most 'in your element' doing a hardcore, Pure D, solid gold rockabilly show like this one. So cool. Or, as old Carl P. once said: "Well my ol' gal's slow and easy,
but all the hepcats know
When she gets that rockin' beat
She knocks the polish off her toes"

Thanks, Captain M., for a wonderful treat! 😎🇨🇦

The Captain Maniac Show

Thanks, Johnny! Yeah, I've always enjoyed putting together the rockabilly shows, mainly because the music takes me back to my childhood (Brit invasion, garage rock and psychedelic music takes me back to my teenage years, and 70s rock takes me back to my 20s!). Glad you dig what you hear!
