We bring you yet another in our series of “theme” shows: an Aloha show, if you will, mainly because we’re featuring not only songs that say hello, but also songs that say goodbye! Oh sure, some of the usual suspects are prevalent (hands up those who rightfully predicted we’d be playing the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye"), but there are also some vinyl rarities to be found on this, Episode 152 of the mighty Captain Maniac Show! In keeping with the possible Eve of Destruction, we quote Styx: Kiss Your Ass Goodbye!

Hello. I guess Lionel Richie was out of the question eh?

The Captain Maniac Show

For me, a big yes on that one. I was never a big Lionel Richie fan EVER. Lionel trains, yes, but Lionel Richie the singer no. I know he had a tune called "Hello", and yes it would have been perfect for this particular show, but I draw the line at including artists I have no interest in. Elton John came real close!

Y'know, I've heard "Hello Goodbye" a billion times, and I still start jumping up and down when it gets to the 'echo vocal' bit. "Do ya say, goodbye - Goodbye-bye-bye-bye-bye-bye..." :-D Thanks for another stellar show...
