Electric Phonetic is an exploration of electronic music, composed with an emotive selection that aims to instill a mood. Series one 'modulated moods', 'synthesized soul', 'emulated elegy' and told of the poetic, dark and melancholic side of house and techno. Series two will take that mantra further and deeper.
This week page one of that story is in a way page one of this radio saga. An epiphany epitomised, and EP to its dark and cavernous core, this mix invokes the rawness of that mysterious time that is 5am. Jay Haze's new album gives us an audio image of 5am, with the snapshot of Finding Oriya in this mix reflecting the early morning hours in clubs where we - often naively - find ourselves. How very poetic, as is the rest of this mix, with a keen focus on Ellum Audio and its thought provoking and awe invoking releases. Take it in, leave normality behind, and let it take you where it leaves you.
All of this wrapped in a phonetically electric tone, for CSRFM.
