To honour the spiritual home of artists, musicians, writers and nonconformists, Ann Scanlon presents A Love Letter to… Soho — a state of mind rather than a geographical location.
She is joined live in the studio by Marc Glendening (aka Johnny Soho), who co-founded The Sohemian Society — with Ian Farrow in The Wheatsheaf pub in Rathbone Place in 2003 — “to promote greater awareness of the characters and events associated with the history of Soho covering areas such as the arts, crime, sex, and politics.”
PLAYING TRACKS BY: John Barry, Gallon Drunk, Bert Jansch & John Renbourn, Kirsty MacColl, Johny Leyton, Nick Drake, Tindersticks, Pulp, The Flaming Stars and The Pogues.
