Mary Morris from Arvon chats with novelist Max Porter about 'The Pagan in the Corner'

Max Porter is the author of the novels Grief is the Thing with Feathers and Lanny. Previously a bookseller for Daunts Books and then Editorial Director at Granta, he lives near Bath with his wife and three young sons. Here he talks to Mary Morris, Director of Totleigh Barton, the Arvon writing house in Devon, about the writing life in lockdown. They discuss the balance of family and work, late night worries and creative breakthroughs, international collaborations and online communities; new preoccupations and outlets for creativity; and the role of nature in mental health and resilience.
