On today's show Fiona promoted Musicians Without Borders, their new album Stone Flowers (featuring musical input from torture survivors) and their performance tonight at Albert Square, preceeding Balkanite at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

Fiona welcomed 6 live guests into the studio to talk about SALFORD AGAINST THE CUTS fundraiser happening tomorrow at Islington Mill, Salford, £5 entry. Live music from Salford Media City, Rapid Pig, Class Actions and Trojan Horse.

Listeners were treated to healthy anti-con-dem-cuts debate and a geography/ history lesson on Salford.

Did you know that Karl Marx used to drink in the Salford Crescent?
Did you know that Manchester grew out of Salford?
Did you know that Salford was a city before Manchester was?

Also Fiona aired 2 radio exclusives from the soon-to-be-released Rapid Pig album, recorded recently during a 2 day stint in a mill in Castlefield.
