03/05/12 The Anything Goes Breakfast Show w/ Action on Stroke Month and Luis Drayton interview

About the show

Playing tracks by

Daft Punk, Electrelane, Salford Media City, The Clash, Monster Island and more.

May 2012 is Action on Stroke Month, which means the raising of awareness about strokes.

I did an interview with Helen Gilbertson who is an Information Advice and Support Co-ordinator for the Stroke Association. She visits and supports stroke survivors around Greater Manchester. I met her at the launch for the Richard Creme exhibition at Manchester Metropolitan University. Richard is a well known Manchester style guru from back in the day, artist, husband, father and stroke survivor. Helen and I talked about some of his artworks in relation to surviving stroke. He is now seen as a visionary contemporary artist. All proceeds from the auction in aid of The Stroke Association.

I also broadcast a telephone interview I had done that week with musician Luis Drayton, about his punk past, getting off the junk, being 'The Queen of all Pus' and his upcoming gig at Toska's Salford Temptation.
