Robbie Hardkiss - Live at a party By The People in SF on August 17th 1996

Robbie Hardkiss - Live at a party By The People in SF on August 17th 1996

Playing tracks by

Ratcliffe, Basement Jaxx and Street Corner Symphony.

Chart positions

This show was 11th in the global vinyl chart, 19th in the global classic house chart and 35th in the global old school chart.

I have this up on soundcloud but I needed to bring this one in to mix cloud because it is one of my most favorite recordings ever. It was the first time I went to San Francisco to a party By The People and a good friend of ours Ryan Compton was opening for Doc Martin and Robbie Hardkiss! This party happened at lil spot called Jelly’s in SF by the bay with 3 turntables setup on the dance floor. Owen and I set up our DAT machines next to the DJ and after Ryan played, Robbie Hardkiss was up and he saw the DAT’s recording and asked not to be recorded. I was bummed but said sure I will shut them off. Well Owen and I had the same DAT machines and I happened to have the remote control for them and there was this feature that shut off the screens and they looked like they were off!! (Sorry Robbie but I would have regretted not recording such an incredible set)
Needless to say, here it is in all its Glory. Enjoy Robbie Hardkiss on 3 turntables at a party By The People on August 17th 1996.

How about the one at 35:00 with the sample about having a party
"Were gonna be free to do what we want to do... were gonna get Loaded"

If anyone out there knows the name of that deep spacey acid track that he mixes about 10 minutes in to about 16:30, I would love to know the name of it! He was so fluid and smooth on 3 decks that night, I will never forget it. All time favorite Hardkiss set!
