There is no denying Keoki’s accomplishments as a DJ & producer in the underground music scene of the 90’s. I have only heard a handful of Keoki mixtapes (Not the live recordings he’s released) and other than what I found on Youtube, Simfonik, Mixcloud and his official Moonshine released CD’s there are not many “Mixtapes” that I can name. I got this tape from a good friend of mine named Michelle that used to be Keoki’s manager back in the late 90’s. I remember listening to it a few times but I wasn’t really into it so, I put it away with rest of my collection and collected more tapes. Well Keoki made some headlines this year and I have been going through my old tapes and came across it again so I digitized it. There was only a mention of this tape on a Simfonik.com comment from his “Let The Street Speak - Trance Time Dreamtime Kicking” mixtape Release. Here it is “I’m Real” and see if you can recognize the sample he uses in his mix that he aptly named it after, its actually brilliant.
