Hebrews Series #15
Mini series: Do You Want to be a Dull Christian? The author declares that his audience, the Hebrew Christian community under pressure to go back to the law, had become dull of hearing. This dullness made explanation to them difficult. They should have been teachers by then, but needed again the elementary teachings about Christ. In Hebrews 5:7- 6:8 the author is explaining the simple gospel in a way to break through their confusion. They were distracted from the simplicity that is in Christ. We suffer from that more than we care to admit. In this mini series we will identify with their dullness and seek to expose our own dullness by looking carefully at the meaning of the many religious words in this section. When we get to 6:4-6, we will be ready to shine brightly the simple gospel and blow away the fog of disconcerting confusion. #1 in the mini series looks at the confusing topic of the flesh. Jesus lived in it. Adam was created to live in it. Is it good or bad?
