Beginning again, with new ears, informed by everything they've heard, AW/OA is honored to present a cinematic, lusciously mixed, contribution from Taylor Bratches, aka Talien. When Talien found dance music nearly a decade ago, she knew she was home.
For Talien, DJing is a personal, political and spiritual act—a way to express, to channel frequencies, to unite people, and to give to others the kinds of formative dance-floor experiences that were given to her. Propelled by this sentiment, she became an active participant of Walking and Falling, the Chicago-based mentorship program for female-identifying and non-binary DJs, and currently runs their podcast series at @walkingandfalling In line with the Walking and Falling vision, she seeks to provide women and nonbinary DJs with an alternate route for exposure, visibility and community.
