The show is based on the Tibetian Buddhism concept of 'Bardo." It is the intermediate or astral state of the soul after death and before rebirth. it is not of this world. I intend to use a broad and dynamic range of genres to build the experience of transiting through this mystical and mysterious environment / state. The mix will be built like a sound collage, with multi-layering of sonic frequencies, ancient organic rhythms, and future music that reflect the range of human conditions, emotions, rituals, transformations and transcendental experiences as one would go through in the bardo. It is an environment / atmosphere i want to create with sound and this can include a hybrid live improvisation/dj approach with an added emphasis of promoting sound artists, dj's and producers from the more left-field of the scenes in Singapore and South East Asia.
