Last year I deejayed on St Patrick's Day, playing a selection not too dissimilar to this one, though with a few more traditional classics. The band before were excellent but the singer stated at the start, "I hate St Patrick's Day, because I hate religion and I hate patriotism". Both very fair points and whilst I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments, no other day has seemed better to use my ancestry as an excuse to drink lots of Guinness and play The Pogues very loudly.
Of course nobody should need any excuses to do either of these things, so here's a mix of rowdy Folk Punk from Ireland, it' offspring and it's distant relatives for everyone, no matter where you come from, or what day of the week it is.
If you'd rather wait until St Patrick's Day itself, that's fine too. It's only another week! (March 17th)
All hail the Craic-heads of the world.
