Listen again to Talk of the Towns from the 18th September. Victoria Eynon from National Energy Action will be telling us about their campaign to get Stoke-on-Trent energy fit and Joy Brassington from the Douglas MacMillan Hospice talked to us about why they need more people to donate to their shops.
Philip Anderson spoke to Councillor Gareth Snell about whether Stoke might benefit from the government’s new plans for a high-speed rail link between Manchester and Birmingham. Mark Porter talked to us about the testicular cancer charity Check em Lads, for which he is one of the main organisers. He told us about their work raising awareness, building a support network and their annual memorial walk up Snowdon.
I also spoke to Amanda Locke from VAST about their open day for local charities next Wednesday, where they will be showcasing how they can help charitable organisations.
