Conversations with the best in the arts!
Chuck Berry was the first big name act I saw when I was 15. Like a lot of others, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones pointed my way to his records......and Willie Dixon, Carl Perkins, Arthur Alexander, Howlin' Wolf...etc.!
I first heard, and saw Mainline when I was 15-16 years old in Ottawa. I still love these records too. Thanks for the music and the stories you guys! Hello Mike!!!I remember the pressing for STINK crackled like the tunes were recorded in a fire place. I knew folks at the Treble Clef record Stores...and one of the staff called me up when they got a British pressing. It was so clear!! Oh! I still have all my Mainline LPs..in great condition!
Except that Led Zeppelin was ripped off black musicians: not that they limited the ripping off to black songwriters. I agree with the rest of the British musicians respecting the black performers.
