Between shows, sad news arrived advising us of the passing of Slits lead singer Ari-Up - so a show-opening tribute to the radical femocat, followed by a recurring theme of slo-mo disco, low-slung slinky bass riffs and horizontal dancing treats. There were also sidesteps into yacht rock territory, dub-reggae and soul, with an unreleased edit of Al Green's sublime tune, "Simply Beautiful" reaching our ears - we therefore had to end with the original of the same tune. RIP Ari-Up - thankfully you certainly weren't a 'typical girl'!
