Jumping The Gap Show 26 Sept 2012
Our irregular guest mix spot 7 Deadly Spins (where guests select exactly seven 45s for a short but fun, themed set) was taken up by Honolulu rare-groove collector Roger Bong today. Closing the show, Roger - who runs the delightful Aloha Got Soul blog - loves his Hawaiin soul funk grooves, which is what he served up. The fact that Roger also worked in the number '7' by dropping a Society Of Seven tune, made this even more of a themed treat. Earlier today we got uncharacteristically jiggy with BPMs low & soulful care of Slakah The Beatchild, Miles Bonny, Ari Roze, Angie Stone (we aired both a recent funky Richard E edit plus the original) & the sublime (but funny) 'Prototype' by Outkast, which recently turned up on a Late Night Tales mix. Speaking of LNT, you also get the series' new exclusive Tensnake mix of Sugardaddy's homage to Brit yacht-rockers Ace. How long has this been going on? About 90 minutes. Happy listening... Aloha! Paris
