Guess who's coming to radio? Marc Mac to be exact. It was Invasion Day eve (colonially known as Australia Day) so what better time to hear tracks from new Marc Mac LP 'Extend The Knowledge' - packed as it is, full of Black Pride & civil rights speeches, plus Guess Who's Coming To Dinner film dialogue predicting Black presidents. Did someone say 'Treaty' too? How apt given Black Australians still don't have one. Sticking with film themes, after a funky JBs intro we launched into some wild soundtrack action including a Bernard Purdie Blaxploitation classic. Easing us into the Marc Mac LP were his Visioneers, some Cold Busted soul-sampling hip hop blunts and a Def Cut track sampling right-on soul-sister & Black Wonder Woman, Millie Jackson. Q-Tip too found himself bouncing atop a Sebi refix. To end, under-appreciated Indigenous Aussie jazz singer Johnny Nicol & a yesteryear's treasure: Time Is Running Out. Too true... Happy listening, Paris.
