Where does it go from here? It's down to the edit I fear!
It was only a matter of time before someone did an edit of lemon cable-knit crew, Haircut One Hundred. "Thank you", Joy Revision? The blue-eyed 80s ski-club funksters have never featured in a set or a radio show, but I'll confess to still owning their LP and having a certain soft-spot for 'Love +1'. Woah! Calling Captain! But we've leapt ahead of ourselves. This show actually began in a sombre, downbeat fashion with Depeche Mode saying Goodnight Lovers and Susanna's Magical Orchestra covering Depeche's advice on remaining 'Mute' before the slo-mo stuttering funk-soul of Rare Moods and Forss. Though the BPMs remained low through some slothful funk and disco - including a preview of a tasty upcoming Matthew Kyle edit - we picked up the tempo for the Afro-Latin loveliness of an upcoming Sofrito collection on Strut.
