Since discovering the Aussie doof scene in 2005, Brendan 'YoBi' Rooney has been sending throbbing vibes across dancefloors in many forms. From full-on night night psy to chunky afternoon progressive and everything in between, one could never assume what the next set would sound like. The main focus always being on providing the dancefloor with something fresh, phat and danceable as well as keeping it psychedelic for fellow psychonauts.
Being embedded in the Newcastle/Sydney scene and initially helping to create 'Bent Perception' has given YoBi a tendency towards hard edged, twisting, thumping sounds. Playing along side many awesome Oz and International artists of the same interest and a background in drumming have lead him to the the rhythmic, moody, thought provoking sounds of psygressive and experimental prog. Now producing as Var!ant, a quirky, chunky psygressive project, Yobi plans to make his own mark on the doof scene of Australia.
