Next country in our series of retrospectives on local jazzscenes is Denmark. Done by DJ Wunderbaum from Copenhagen, one half of Danish nujazz heroes Povo. In 2008 Anders-Peter Andreasen (DJ Wunderbaum) compiled the second volume of the On The Spot series, released on Ricky-Tick Records from Helsinki. Four years earlier Anders-Peter delivered this awesome selection, which isn't just a retrospective on the Danish jazzscene, but also a slight preview on Povo's debut album which eventually came out in 2005. Expect lots of Povo and two takes by nujazz outfit The Society plus a couple of extremely rare Danish jazz classics. Just to name the Jazz Quintet '60 with a stunning track off their legendary 1962 album on Metronome. Another great selection I aired on my late radio show 'Satelliet' (2000-2005). Broadcasted on the local radio station in the city of Groningen (The Netherlands) on February 23rd, 2004. Enjoy!
