Tropical Waste welcomes Munkyfatt, the selecta chosen to start the series of guest mixes spun exclusively for the blog.
Munkyfatt is one part of the expansive Guerilla Rhythm crew, a team of sonic activists based in deepest Devon. Their projects include homebrewed hip-hop productions, non-stop turntabalism, spray can artworks and bass heavy parties. Since making the short trip to (and taking up residence in) Bath, Munkyfatt has been re-upping his activities in the city, continuing to mess up dance floors and boom bap riddims. WASTEMIX #1 is a heavy trip into low end territories. You'll feel a constant sense of unbalance throughout, as tunes bend and flex beneath unending bass weight. Call it Wonky Hip Hop, Aqua Crunk or Dubstep not Dubstep, thing is, what you're hearing is straight up sound system music and Munkyfatt's got plenty artillery. Get to know!
