Hailing from Albuquerque, NM, Tyler Schmith (aka Tai) moved to Baltimore, MD in 2002 where he founded Gourmetbeats.com, a collective focused on bringing exposure to emerging music and artists. Since then Tyler has been an integral figure in the mid-Atlantic electronic music scene, holding residencies at many of Baltimore's premier dance clubs and lounges and gracing the decks with everyone from Mark Farina to Afrika Bambaata. His success in Baltimore has also led to guest spots around the country including repeat performances at Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference, and his weekly 'Rare Grooves' event at Baltimore’s historic Belvedere Hotel hosted such names as Kevin Yost and the All Good Funk Alliance.
Currently Tyler resides in Washington, DC where he focuses on running Gourmetbeats.com and Gourmetbeats Radio, and can be seen playing at various events throughout the area.
