The Red Bird label and it's Blue Cat subsidiary were short lived-but very influencial labels. From late 1963-mid 1966, these labels racked up 25 hot 100 singles: 14 of which made the top 40 and 2 of which were #1. That's not to mention the dozens great singles the labels released that, sadly, went overlooked. This program will not only focus on many of those one and two single groups and artists that recorded for Red Bird/Blue Cat - but also feature the songs for the FIRST TIME in TRUE STEREO!

Evie Sands "Take Me For A Little While" is exceptionally good...I'm surprised it wasn't a collosal hit for her. What an interesting niche to focus on timelinewise...you can hear the "modish" crossover starting to happen in some of these pieces...a lot of clues embedded in the artists that appropriated the song material after the first run...
