'The 1.5 generation as defined on the very reliable Wikipedia is ‘people who immigrate to a new country before or during their early teens. New Zealand like other Western countries has an increasing number of 1.5 generation people, particularly from Asian countries. Not only do they have the knowledge of and connections with their native cultures but they continue to integrate and absorb from their new surroundings. Thus having a different world view from those who migrate as adults or a second generation born in the new country. This panel brings together three creatives of Asian origin from the 1.5 generation in New Zealand to talk about their lives and their creative expression. Liyen Chong, Hosam and Meghan Geliza share their stories in conversation with Sapna Samant.'
*This is an audio recording of a live panel discussion held on 09/10/2011.
