As this is the year when I joined the Quietus staff, proceeded to add a disproportionate volume of techno and house to the office soundtrack and started this monthly column, it feels appropriate to finish 2011 with a list of Hyperspecific's tracks of the year. The idea behind this round-up was to focus on tracks that were released on individual 12"s and would therefore not qualify for the main albums of the year lists. It's not intended to be comprehensive or objective - more something of a guided tour through some of the best musical moments of this year, both on and off the dancefloor (mainly on), as seen through my own eyes.
