Inspired by the likes of Magda, Victor Calderone, DJ Vibe, Richie Hawtin, Merrit, Junior Vazquez, Radioslave, and Steve Lawler, Smitty's passion for rhythm is matched only by his desire to master the art of production and DJing. To the amazement of his Elementary school music teachers, Smitty's ability to play the trumpet seemed to come naturally, leading to a life long obsession with music. Growing up in New Jersey's thick house scene just a stones throw from New York City, Smitty took full advantage of the opportunities the rich nightlife NYC and Jersey clubs had to offer. With mega clubs like Exit and Sound Factory operating in their prime, Smitty had a front row seat to witness the biggest and best DJ / Production talent in the world.
