The true old school, often when DJ's do Old School Hip Hop mixes you will hear the likes of Public Enemy, Kool G Rap, Ultramagnetic, Eric B & Rakim, etc. As much as those artists are amazing and the music does go back they are not to me the real sound of old school Hip Hop, these mixes will give you the sound of the artists that came before them all, this is old school.
This is an ongoing series of mixes that will chronicle the birth of Hip Hop and it's eventual emergence into Electro Funk and early 80's Disco Boogie. There are some forgotten gems out there to be rediscovered that are often overshadowed by the more well known Electro Funk and Disco tunes of the time, although these will also be covered in later mixes they will sit alongside more rare and obscure tunes that have been missed and lost in time, no stone will be unturned.
