The name is "DJ RJ." "RJ" is short for "Row Jones" which is my stage name as a performing artist. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and eventually moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, where I greatly expanded my range as a musician. There was always an interest inside me to DJ and being at Berklee helped solidify that interest. I found myself constantly in recording studios, watching people mix music. I learned control on the microphone in recording studios and in venues. When Berklee started their online radio station, I was one of the first in line to sign up as soon as possible. I started my own Hip Hop/Reggae radio program entitled, "Free The Music," and continued for two semesters in 2007/08.
After this, I got into the habit of "DJing" my own parties (without equipment), hosting birthdays for friends and barbecues. In 2011, I was able to start buying my own equipment and was able to start travelling to people's houses to DJ parties. In October and Nove
