It has been a really weird and sad and frustrating few days in England.
The events over the last few days made me want to do a DJ mix reflecting the mood as I feel it in the UK. With the burning of the Sony warehouse a lot of great independent labels and artists I know are directly effected by the situation. The mix is eclectic with the classic reggae of Junior Murvin into The Specials. There are a few words from a couple of great people on the streets of Hackney, London and the not so great words from Boris Johnson. The Demon Boyz track is from 1992 and about how they are struggling dealing with the Police in Tottenham, a song of frustration. The intro to the Gil Scot Heron track is a timeless message but very relevant in the current climate. So as not to get too depressing and to remain positive, I thought I would finish with some simple “loved up” tunes. P.S. Bumped into Boris after recording this DJ mix check here for more info on that: http://robluis.blogspot.comUploaded 1 year ago - Featuring tracks by Demon Boyz, LIFE, Gil Scott-Heron, Rothchild Kid, Words From An Unwise Man and more ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Listeners also enjoyedDo you like us? |
