My name is Kevin Purdy. I have a been a musician since I entered this particular mortal coil. I'm also a composer and producer. I've run Soft Records since 1999, to release my work as Purdy and my combo Tooth. I've also been a selector and radio presenter since the mid 80's,passionately collecting a myriad of musical styles since I was a kid. Growing up as the youngest in my family during the 60's & 70's, I was lucky to get a hip introduction into the worlds of garage, British beat, psych, bubblegum and good rock, boogying to the Troggs, Shangri-las and Traffic from our collective 7"s. I shifted through glam, New Wave, 70's rock, prog, post-punk, jazz, r&b, soul, Jamaican, funk, new wave, trip-hop and hip-hop all with the same feverish passion, collecting 1,000s of LPs, singles and CDs.
My mixes are a combination of all things that have passed before me, sometimes heady, sometimes soulful and other times rockin from the hip.
