I always been a big fan of GMIII and I must admit that his opening track "When" had kinda past me by without me realising it.... until now!! It's an cracking track and sets the theme and quality for the rest of the show.
I was thrilled this week to come across two amazing tracks from Quartetto Trevi feat. Max Ionata on the infamous Déjà Vu label from there Night Walk album. Two amazing "Trane-esque offerings. The London Experimental Jazz Quartet follow things up nicely with Destroy the Nihilist Picnic before I drop another stella track from the Déjà Vu camp by Enrico Pieranunzi. Sarah Vaughan shows off her scatting talent with a live performance of Sassy Blues before I get the big guns of Art Blakey and Hank Mobley out. Final, we wind things up with a real treat from Junior Mance featuring Jose James and a stunning blues number called "Going To Chicago" .
