In this edition of African Essence - 1st broadcast on 13/5/2012 on Resonance 104.4fm London/www.resonance.com worldwide - Anne Wanjie & DJ Debbie are joined by Jodie, Zakia, Asmita & Daniel who were involved in making 'Margins to Mainstream' - produced by The Octavia Foundation and Nu Century Arts alongside acclaimed Director/writer Don Kinch & stellar contributors. The groundbreaking film explores the history and heritage of Black Theatre in Britain, examines the different interpretations of ‘Black British Theatre’ as a label & genre and catalogues the incredible contribution of Black actors, producers and playwrights to the UK theatre tradition. A short tour is underway and more outlets are sought.
