February is carnival time, and it’s been cold enough even here in Seville to have me and everyone I know thinking of taking a trip to the southern hemisphere. The next best thing, of course, is the warm sound of Brazilian music. On this follow-up to the original Brazilian Wax, I've included some of the best and rarest Brazilian records of the seventies and eighties in this mix, plus a couple of well-known classics and a 00s song by Arthur Verocai. The majority of the music in this set is very rare, unknown, and hasn't appeared on compilations. As I have spent a lot of time and, in many cases, money tracking down these records, I'm not willing to give up a full tracklist just yet--at least not until all my record-junkie friends secure their copies. OdDio delivers once again! What makes a good dj/mix, in my opinion, is a combination of three things: track selection, programming, and technical delivery. As usual Fevereiro is an example of OdDios ability to present his talents on all of these. The blend at 9:20, among others, present those skills nicely. The deep tracklist here also show his skill of unearthing rarities that elude some of the best diggers I know (even myself.) OdDio mixes are a staple in my house anytime of the day/week. Bravo!
