Martelo – an associated member of the seminal Boiler Room nights and more recently NTS radio – has come to be regarded as one of the UK’s finest DJs, an essential player in the ever-unfolding story of the UK underground music scene. His incomparable skills as a selector, deep record bag and raw talent for mixing – something that has seen him tour with Santogold and open shows for Jay-Z – is fused with a perfected craft for sound design. Martelo joins our ‘Skream and Benga Presents’ night at Fabric in Room Three, alongside Boddika, Scratcha DVA and Seiji – in anticipation he’s put together a flawless mix. A diverse 27 tracks are presented, uniting some of the most forward-thinking music of today’s music. Martelo’s clear love for bass, and everything surrounding it, forms the skeleton for the mix, with deep spins from Boddika, Instra:mental and Rustie, as well as remixes from the likes of Bok Bok, Breach and Hudson Mohawke.
