The Wilton Way Café and London Fields Radio present a special series of podcasts from 1902 to 2012 to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee ahead of their free street party on Sunday June 3.
Presenters on Hackney's micro radio station count down the eras, from the 1900s to 2000s, commemorating the best (and worst) of the decade with music, commentary and LFR's distinct DIY flavour. Number two in the series is a Diamond Jubilee edition of Page One, LFR's leftfield books show, in which presenter Adrian reads from the first pages of second-hand books. But here, in-keeping with the 1930s theme, he reads from the thirtieth page of some vintage treasures (sadly not first editions), accompanied by some rather wonderful music. NB: The dates mentioned are the dates of first publication/performance/recording.
