This is the ‘J Dilla’ side of my instr mixtape (2006).

Back in 2006 I heard about a bunch of rappers who came together in ‘het Zuidpark’ in Ghent, Belgium. I went over there and heard them rhyme all night, they only needed a small radio, battery's, ‘Cara-pils’ and a cassette. And when they ran out of battery's, one of the MC's putted his lips together for a proper beatbox. The setting was nearly perfect, perhaps the cassettes they used over and over again had large pauses between every instrumental track.

At the same time those MC's organized a monthly indoor version of the cypher, better known as ‘9000 Sessies’. It was the perfect party for lyricists and hip-hop-lovers with open-mic sessions and loads of showcases.
