There's been a bit of a drought of new tunes round this way for the past couple of weeks, but payday has finally arrived and I've re-stocked, hence the returning smile to my face. Find within a stunning new Demdike Stare edit of a Billy Green track, the crackin' new Blawan single, a doomtastic piece from the new Barn Owl album, absolutely the best release from Spectrum Spools thus far in the shape of Container, and a pretty nifty Function remix of Gregor Tresher. Those bits aside, I treat you to more from the Julia Holter and Mark McGuire albums, and also realise the recent Machinedrum album ain't half bad at all. As if all that weren't enough, Mississippi keep up their recent assault on record shops with an Alan Lomax-recorded Fred McDowell album, and it only seemed right to slip in a little Dennis Alcapone for good measure...

That Demdike Stare remix is great. Nice and creepy. Will be seeking that out for my Halloween show. Julia Holter album is a bit special too and I'm glad you found a place in your heart for Machinedrum.
